Border Background
1.Open a new image, click on the little icon under the word "File.
When the window pops up, select "user defined" and set the
width to 1400 and the height to 200.
*The reason we make the image this wide is so people using
higher sceen resolutions will see the background properly.
If you make it 800 wide , it will look great on a monitor using an
800 x 600 screen resolution, but with the 1024x 768 resolution, it will
look really ugly, and the background will repeat itself to fill the
screen.
The two colors that I used are #DAE8EF for the main background,
and #276A8B for the side border. You can use
whatever colors you like. With the bucket fill tool, fill your new image
with color #DAE8EF.
With the selection tool,
start in the top left corner of your image , and make a selection
aprox,
80 wide by 200 more. Look at the bottom left of your screen to see the
measurements
Fill this with the second color .#276A8B
To do this click on your "bucket fill tool"
then right click on the "fill color " square.
When the window pops up click on "ulead color picker" another window
will
pop up and where its says hex #,
you put in the color # you have chosen,
in my case #276A8B. Fill your selection with the color. Right click on
your border and convert to object, then right click and merge .
Your background should now look like this;
I added a few snowflakes to my border to jazz it up a bit.
To add the snowflakes, go to your "path drawing tool"
2D , color white and then click on the custom shape icon.
Pick snowflake 2 .
Draw some flakes on your side border. Make a few big ones and some
smaller ones. Arrange them on your border
. To see what your background looks like , go to File at the
top of your screen, and scroll down to "Preview in Browser" and then "as
tiled background".
To close the window just click on the x.
If you are happy with the way it looks, merge all and save as gif.
This is what you should now have.
Buttons
and Welcome banner.
