For this tutorial I have included express tips at the beginning of each step, and included detailed instructions for those just beginning with PhotoImpact.  If you have trouble understanding the express tips, use the detailed instructions instead.

1. file/new/new image/400 X 300/white background

Open a new canvas by clicking on file new/new image.
Enter 400 for the width, and 300 for the height.
Make sure you have white checked in the box.
See the image.

2. Gradient fill tool, two colors/blue, white
Click on the bucket fill tool, and click the arrow in the corner so that the drawer opens.
Click Gradient fill tool.
Set your fill method to two-color, and choose two colors for your card. I have chosen blue and white. To set up the colors, just click on the color boxes, and choose a color. If you chose either windows color picker or ulead color picker you will get a much wider choice of colors than you would otherwise.
3. Drag a diagonal line across your canvas.
Starting in the lower right corner of your card, click and drag to the upper left corner. Release the mouse button.
Your canvas is filled with a blue and white gradient.
4. Fantastic machines paint engine/preset flakes/ ok
Go to effect/Fantastic machines paint engine.
Click the down arrow beside <none> and scroll to find flakes. If you have nothing in the preset box, click the randomize button until you get a pattern with white flakes like this one. You can then save the preset as flakes!
Click ok.
5. Effect/fm tile tools/blend emboss/intensity 0.500

Go to effect/fm tile tools/blend emboss. Leave everything default except alter the intensity to 0.500.

6. stamp tool/add stamp/pinkrose.ufo./scale 85
Unzip the rose ufo to your favorite stamp folder.
Click on stamp tool. Click the down arrow beside the deer, and click add stamp.
Browse to the folder to which you unzipped pinkrose.ufo, and click to select it. Click ok.
In the attribute bar, click the field beside scale, and type 85.
If you are using a different stamp or a tube, the scale may need to be different.
7. Toggle mask mode on, stamp lower right corner, mask mode off.

Click on the mask mode button. Your nice background will be covered with a whitish layer. This is normal.
Click on the lower right corner of your card. You will see the area where you stamped turn the color of the background underneath. If you get the rose partially off screen that is ok. We can fix that in step 8.
Click the mask mode again to turn the mask off.
The area where you just stamped is now surrounded by selection lines.

  8. Move selection if needed/press delete key/right click none.

If your selection ended up slightly off canvas, use the arrow keys to position it correctly.
Your masked area will be filled with the background color, so now is a good time to make sure it is set on white, or any other color that you would like it to be.
Press the delete key on your keyboard.
Right click, and click none.

9. Right click/all/right click convert to object./format/image size/selected object/360 pix. width
Right click on your canvas, and click all. Right click again, and convert to object.
Go to format/image size, Click selected objects, set the unit to pixels, and the width to 360.
Click ok.

10. format/frame and shadow/edge frame/ gradient photo edge./all around shadow
Go to format/frame and shadow. Click the down arrow beside style and click edge frame. Click on the gradient sample, and click on the box beside multiple colors. This will open the Palette Ramp Editor, where you will be able to choose your ramp. The thumbnails from which to choose are at the bottom. Scroll through them until you find 08, the gold one. CLick ok out of all the dialog boxes.
Right click on your object, click shadow, click the button shown here and ok.
You have finished the decoration for your card.

11. Path tool/rectangle/border2, color of choice/ a little larger than your card/send to back. Duplicate, send to back.

Click on the path tool, and set the shape to rectangle, and the color to your choice., and the mode to 3D round.
Click and drag diagonally to outline a rectangle slightly larger than your card. Set the border to 2, and the depth to -20 in the path panel box which will pop up when you click the path tool.
Click the pick tool and the send to back button. This is your card front. Right click duplicate and again send to back. This is your card back.

12. Text tool/gold material 3d Chisel/ type text/ shadow x 1, y 2, transparency 0 soft edge 0.

Click on the text tool and then on your canvas. Type the text you wish to appear on your card, using the font of your choice. Choose a gold preset from the easy palette. Set the mode to 3D Chisel, and in the text panel, set the border to 2.

Point to the bottom center handle, and move it to the left very slightly, just enough so you can see the card back just a little behind the front.
Point to and click on the card back in the small area where it sticks out. Click on the center bottom handle and move it slightly to the right.
14. Point to and click on the card front. Right click and add a shadow.
Set the options to x 3, y 0, transparency 60, and soft edge 5. Click ok.
Center the card tops so they look correct.

Merge all and save.
